How to solve family problems?

8.

Sit down and talk about it

Solving a problem is never easy when you are washing the dishes or doing some take-home paperwork. Put everything down and face the issue eye to eye.
8.

Don’t blame anybody

Blaming somebody will not change the situation - it can even aggravate it. Once they feel that they are attacked, the offenders will put their best defense which may lead to more heated arguments.

Formulate solutions

Think of possible solutions and write them down. Don’t choose the best option yet, just keep the suggestions coming.

Nip it right in the bud

A lot of family problems begin with petty quarrels. Who’s the smartest, who’s the next one to use mom’s iPad, etc. Don’t prolong the agony. Address the issue right away.
5.

Try to be fair

As much as possible, don’t play favorites. Your children will resent you for it and may lead to lasting negative memories that may affect their future lives.
3.

Involve your kids

Don’t exclude your kids from the equation. Inform them of the issue and ask them for their suggestions. For example, tell your children that you just lost your job and that you’ll need all the help you can get to cut down costs. Don’t be surprised if one of your kids offers to watch less TV or eat less fries.
1.

Do not involve emotions

A lot of problems could go out of hand because of the emotions involved.

From your list of solutions, choose the ones that will be beneficial to most members of the family.
